Efforts are being made to retain senior leader S M Krishna in the Congress party, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, here on Tuesday.
Speaking to media persons in the city, he said that the guidance of senior leaders like Krishna is always required for the party. I wish that Krishna will remain in the Congress and guide us with invaluable advice to chart the political challenges in future. Our cabinet ministers are already in consultation with the former chief minister to change his mind and take back the resignation, he added.
Congress party has given everything to Krishna as he was a minister after joining the party and later on went on to become the Speaker, Chief Minister, Governor and Union Minister for External Affairs. After so many years in Congress, the decision to quit the party is perplexing, Siddaramaiah added.
