Ambedkar Jayanti celebrated at Maharaja College

Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti was observed at the centenary auditorium of the Maharaja College by the extracurricular activities’ committee of
the college.

Speaking after inaugurating the program, in-charge Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysore, Prof Dayananda Mane opined that Valmiki
should have written about the plight of the Dalits then in his epic Ramayana. The situation of the community would have been better then,
he opined.
“There are about 150 Dalit MPs and 800 Dalit MLAs in the country. But they are not backing Dalit activism, but are going behind money and power,” he added.

Principal of the college, Prof C P Sunitha, administrative officer Dr L Limbya Naik, convener of the committee, Dr S T Ramachandra were
present in the program.
