A section of the aggrieved Congress workers in city, who are unhappy with the style of functioning 0f Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, have launched ‘Save Congress, Protect workers’ campaign in Mysuru district. The workers are reportedly unhappy with the recent developments in the Congress.
Addressing a press conference at the press club in the city on Wednesday, Chamundeshwari Block Congress Committee president N A Arakeswariah alleged that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had tarnished the image of Congress in the state. AICC President Sonia Gandhi must immediately intervene to resolve all the issues of the party, he added.
Honest workers have been relentlessly working for the party’s growth since decades have been sidelined by Siddaramaiah despite several warnings from former KPCC president Janardhan Poojary and former MP A H Vishwanath. “If the Congress high command doesn’t intervene on issues pertaining to Karnataka, the party will face defeat in the next Assembly polls,” he added.
Arakeswaraiah said that ‘Siddaramaiah came in the name of AHINDA and now he has neglected the Backward Classes and added that former ministers M Mahadevu, M Shivanna and former MLC C Ramesh were forced to leave Congress.
By dropping V Srinivasa Prasad from the Cabinet, Siddaramaiah clearly proved that he is anti-Dalit. In addition, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwar has been sidelined for the post of chief minister, he lamented. “Digvijay Singh who is in-charge of Congress in Karnataka should be replaced immediately.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ravi, president of D Devaraj Urs Block Congress Committee, said he resigned from the Congress following the recent bickering in the party.
Congress workers Shivanna, Prakash, Venkatesh and Ashok Babu were present.
