“Bhagiratha jayanti is scheduled at Kalamandir at 11 am on May 2. Prior to that, a huge procession will be organised from Kote Anjaneya Temple at 9:30 am. Various art teams will take part in the precession. Members of the community should take part in the procession in large number to make it a success,” said the president of Mysuru district Uppara employee’s association.
He was addressing a press meet held at the Mysuru Press Club on Sunday.
“District incharge minister Dr H C Mahadevappa will inaugurate the program. MLA Vasu will preside over the event. Chinna seer of Aiyana Saragur mutt, Malavalli will grace the occasion. Minister Tanveer Sait, Mayor M J Ravi Kumar, Vidhana Parishath deputy speaker Marithibbegowda, ZP President Nayeema Sulthana, MP Pratap Simha, Dhruva Narayan, C N Puttaraju and others will be present,” he said.
The event will be organized by the district administration, Kannada and culture department, and Bhagiratha Jayantyothsava committee.
Chief Secretary L Malla Shetty, Secretary Shivaraju, director Manju, treasurer Somashekar, Prakash, Suresh and others were present in the press meet.
