“After B S Yeddyurappa becoming the state BJP president, the party is all pepped up. He has travelled all over the state and held various conventions to reach out to the public. In order to boost the morale of the people of backward class, a convention of the backward classes will be held on Sunday at Palace Grounds, Bengaluru,” said Mysuru district rural BJP president Kote Shivanna.
He was addressing a press meet here on Friday.
“BJP national president Amit Shah, state president Yeddyurappa and national and state BJP leaders will take part in the mega convention. People are fed up of the Congress government’s rule and are shifting towards BJP. More than 3 lakh party workers are expected to take part in the convention. From Mysuru district, more than 10,000 participants will attend the convention. Around buses and other vehicles have been arranged for the transportation of the party workers. Buses will leave Mysuru from Columbia Asia Hospital on the outskirts of the city,” he added.
“The parties which considered the backward classes as their vote banks will learn a lesson from the BJP convention. Those who have cheated the backward classes in the name of Ahinda will be taught a lesson. The convention will show the strength of the party and is a foreword for the upcoming Karnataka assembly elections,” said district BJP president Dr B H Manjunath.
He also requested the public not to support the Bharat bandh called by the parties, which against the interest of the nation.
