PWD and District In-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa inspected the road construction works at Gun House Circle on Ooty-Nanjangud Raod in the city on Tuesday.
Speaking after inspecting the works, the minister said that Rs 50 crore has been released for the road development work. “A permanent cement road is being constructed for a length of 6 km. Out of the planned 6 km cement road construction, only 1 km is yet to be constructed. The road will be open for public by April. The road construction from Ramaswamy Circle to Hardinge Circle is also under progress. A footpath is also under construction along the road,” he added.
When media persons questioned about the recent controversy regarding the death threats to the complainant against his son Sunil Bose, the minister declined to comment on such incidents stating that he doesn’t even know who that person was.
MLA M K Someshekhar and other officials accompanied the minister during the inspection rounds.
