Dr Yatheendra gets primary membership of Congress

Prime News, State (Mysuru), July 9:- Chief Minister Dr. Yatheendra S on Saturday became a primary member of the Congress. He has registered himself as a party member in a party membership drive that concluded at Varuna constituency.

According to the sources, Dr. Yatheendra is planning to contest from Varuna constituency, which is now represented by his father  Siddaramaiah. As the first step, he has now availed the party membership.

According to sources, Siddaramaiah wants to shift to Chamundeshwari constituency to ensure that he can effectively monitor and influence the outcome of several constituencies of Mysuru and Chamarajanagar. Dr. Yatheendra was recently appointed as the non executive member of KDA committee for Varuna constituency.

Siddaramaiah’s older son Rakesh, who had actively involved himself in the CM’s constituency, is no more and there were a lot of speculations with regard to entry of Dr Yatheendra into politics as the latter had maintained distance from limelight and from politics. (MR, Inputs: Agencies).
