Extra-curricular activities fulfill one’s social aspirations: Dr B Chandrashekhar

“Education helps a man to earn a livelihood and extra-curricular activities fulfill the social aspirations of one’s life,” said Dr B Chandrashekhar, NSS programme convener of the University of Mysore.

He was speaking at the valedictory programme of the activities of sports, scouts, guides, NSS and NCC held at Maharani College of Commerce for Women in the city on Thursday.

“Parents wish to provide their children with quality education and want to see them in higher positions. For that, students should participate in extra-curricular activities along with education,” he suggested.

Students who had excelled in NSS and NCC were awarded with prizes on the occasion.

Chairman of Physical Education and Sports Studies Department Dr C Venkatesh; Principal of Vyjayanthi College for Painting H Krishnamurthy, Principal of Maharani College of Commerce Dr Annegowda, convener Prof M Shivanna, Prof Somanna and others were present.
