Since, Goods and Services Taxes law is being implemented all over the country, all the registered dealers of Mysuru are required to enrol themselves for ease of doing business under GST before 15 January.
With three days left for the dealers to enrol for the GST, the Department of Commercial Taxes will be operating help desks at Local Vat offices and Divisional Vat offices, MCCI and at its premises on Saturday and Sunday.
The Department of Commercial Taxes started the GST Migration camp from January 1 with the aim of bringing 52,000 dealers in the city. Although the department started the campaign since January 1, it enrolled about 11,172 till January 12.
Addressing media persons in the city, Nageshwar Rao K, Joint Commissioner for Commercial taxes said “We are establishing the help desks at important venues in order to make the dealers migrate to GST. We are hoping to enrol more dealers,” he added.
