In a successful operation, Srirangapattana police arrested the most wanted criminal Bombay Saleem on Tuesday night along with six members of his gang. Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Telangana police were on Saleem’s trail for some time now.
On receiving the information about a gang staying in the forest area near Srinrangapattana, the police raided the area and pounced on the gang of six and found a pistol, daggers and other lethal weapons in their possession.
Two women, identified as Prema and Khushi, were also part of the gang. Khushi is said to be a resident of Mysuru. Bombay Saleem was wanted by the police in over 50 cases of robbery, honey trapping registered against his name. Based on the information garnered, six of the dreaded gang of 15 have been arrested.
The gang was also into honey trapping. The gang would target gullible people for their operation. The girls of the gang were befriending the target and were shooting explicit visuals with them. They were blackmailing the person for money with the video. One such case was registered in Srirangapattana, a month ago.
Police have recovered four cars, one gun, 18 bullets, 10 long, six daggers, chilli powder, pepper powder, and spray from the gang. The gang was presented before the Srirangapattana court. Superintendent of Police, Sudhindra Reddy lauded the effort of the Srirangapattana police.
