“People with intellectual knowledge has high demand in the society,” said Divisional Secretary and ex-officio Joint Director of Public Instruction Basavaraju B K.
He was speaking after inaugurating the first refresher course in ‘Research Methodology in education’ organised by UGC-Human Resource Development Centre in the city, on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, Basavaraju said, “Quality education is the need of the hour. Mysuru has contributed immensely in the field of education, what the society needs today is people having intellectual knowledge. It’s the responsibility of every teacher to educate and enlighten the students to develop intellect thinking and take them forward to reach greater heights. From the year 1986, various initiatives and programmes have been introduced in the field of education. Students and teachers must utilise these services to develop a strong foundation for their future.”
“Teaching field must have its own ethical values. Training and professionalism are completely different. Teachers must have a friendly and humanitarian approach. Teachers must also be a good researcher, thereby, solving the needs of the students and prepare them to be an intellect property of the society,” he added.
Director of UGC-HRDC Prof Midatala Rani, Course Coordinator Dr D R Sarvamangala and others were present.
