International Children’s Helpline Day observed

Mysuru, May 17:- On the eve of International Children’s Helpline Day, a street play was organised at the Gandhi Circle in the city.

The child helpline with the emergency number 1098 is working 24/7 for the protection of children. The child helpline service in Mysuru is working since 7 years in collaboration with the Women and Child Welfare Ministry. The helpline is creating awareness on children’s right and protection.

The helpline which is creating awareness om street kids, child labour, child marriage and sexual harassment on children, on the occasion of International Children’s helpline day, is creating awareness among the public regarding the safety and security of children through loudspeakers and street plays.

As many as 50 children from shelter run by RLHP organisation and from slum areas took part in the event. (KS)
