“The contribution of Yalandur in Kannada literature is immense,” said journalist Fairoz Khan.
He was speaking at the Nityothsava programme held at the government high school recently.
“Sanchi Honnamma, who raised voice for the women rights, belongs to this land. Such brave women should be the role model for the youth. Y M Manjunath had conducted more than 150 poetry conventions with his own money at Yalandur. He had felicitated 50 achievers of the state on a single stage. Even the young writers are contributing to the development of the language,” he said.
Head Master Chandrakumar, Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddur Virupaksha, R Gopalakrishna, Ramesh and others were present.
