Mysuru, September 13:- Heritage city Mysuru is getting decked up for the Dasara festivities. Lakhs of tourists will visit the city during Dasara. To make it easier for them to access the tourism spots in and around the city, the KSRTC is introducing ‘Darshini’ tours for the tourists.
Dasara Darshini was offered for four days last year. This time, the authority has decided to extend the facility for 15 days. KSRTC makes it possible for the tourists to visit temples, hills, waterfalls at a discounted price. Jala Darshini is also organised to visit waterfalls, Deva Darshini for temple visits and Giri Darshini to visit hills. Six additional buses will be operational during the Dasara festivities. During Dasara festivities, except the day of Jamboo Savari on September 30, the Darshini will function.
As October 1 falls on Sunday, October 2 and 5 are holidays for Gandhi jayanti and Valmiki jayanti, tourists are expected to throng the city in large numbers. The Darshini tour will begin at 6:30 am from the city and after covering all the tourist places will return at 9:30 pm. Tourists may purchase tickets online as well.
Deva Darshini takes the tourists to Srirangapattana, Mudukuthore, The Bluff, Talakadu, Nanjangud Temple, and KRS. Ticket is priced at Rs 140 for children and Rs 275 for elders.
Giri Darshini tour will cover Chamundi Hills, Biligiri Rangana Betta, Gopalaswamy Hills. Fee for children is Rs 175 and elders Rs 350. The Darshini tours had evoked good response from the visitors during the previous years.
