Local, Mysuru, May 20:- Deputy Commissioner D Randeep instructed the officials to gear up for the preparations to conduct the International Day of Yoga and to promote the importance of yoga worldwide.
He held a meeting of the officials to discuss about the preparations of International Yoga Day and directed them to ensure that 50,000 people can perform yoga at a time.
Various organisations conducting yoga classes in the city assured of taking part in the International Yoga Day. He also requested the departments of tourism, AYUSH, Nehru Yuvakendra, yoga and natural therapy institutions to extend their support for the yoga day.
10,000 people can perform yoga at the palace premises. Remaining can perform yoga at the surrounding areas such as Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple, Rajapatha Road, Devaraja Urs Road. Loudspeakers will be installed at all the places to so that the instructions will be heard by everyone, he added.
The participants may wear white dress or the uniform that their institutions possess. Carpet facilities will be provided. Training will given prior to a week, the DC said.
Deputy director of tourism department Janardhan, district AYUSH officer Dr Seethalakshmi, Nataraju, Dr Ka Rameshwarappa, H R Basappa, and other officials were present.
