A national level conference ‘PRATIBIMB – 2017’ sponsored by TEQIP II and organised by the National Institute of Engineering was held in the city on Thursday.
Sudhindra V, head, Engineering Services and MIS, BEML Ltd, Mysuru, was the chief guest.
Addressing the students, he said that the industry expects the graduates coming out of engineering institutes to possess a lot of qualities other than engineering knowledge. He opined that events like PRATIBIMB will definitely help the students to gain the extra qualities and knowledge that are required for a budding engineer.
He also spoke on the advancement in future like cloud computing, additive manufacturing and 3D printing, NIE efforts in green and solar energy innovations.
The conference saw 50 technical papers being presented and examined through a screening committee which comprised professors of the department.
In all 40 papers were selected for the presentation, poster presentation. The participants were research scholars, PG students and UG students from various engineering colleges of the state.
Dr M S Sham Prasad, HoD of I and P Engineering Department, Dr K M Subbaiah , Mohammed Ismail and others were present.
