cogNIEscience- the 14th edition of the national-level technical paper presentation contest organised by the Department of Mechanical Engineering was inaugurated on Saturday.
To provide a platform for undergraduate and postgraduate students to present research papers NIE College organised the seminar at the college premises on Saturday. The programme was inaugurated by Assistant General Manager (Manufacturing) of BEML A Raghunath.
He said, “In any processing industries we should concentrate on three major terminologies — quality, cost and delivery. They are the three vertices of a triangle and in the centre of it safety plays a major role and is of paramount importance. Automation is the need of hour today as it decreases the production cost, saves time and moreover there will be no issue of shortage of labour.”
“Students need to develop a positive attitude and be passionate,” he said.
Director, NIE Management Committee S L Ramachandra, Professor and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering Dr M V Achutha, conveners Ravi Kumar Beeranur, N S Srikanth and others were present.
