Residents stage protest in Hunsur; demand basic amenities

Mysuru, August 12:-  The Maruti Layout in Hunsur Town Municipal Council (TMC) ward 22 lacks basic amenities even after 30 years of its formation.

The residents of the layout staged a protest to seek amenities on Saturday. The members of Sathya Foundation, Jaya Karnataka, Praja Vedike and residents staged a protest and urged for the basic amenities.

More than 3,000 families have been living in the layout since 30 years. The TMC collects all the tax from the residents, but has not provided amenities like roads and drainage system. The residents are also facing health issues with the spread of dengue and other diseases, but the TMC has turned a blind eye towards these matters.

Sathyappa, Ramesh Doddahejjur, Pandu Kumar and others were present.
