Prime News, State (Bengaluru), July 16:- The surprise rejig of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, which saw the appointment of 171 people as office bearers has been done to ensure the success of the ruling party in the upcoming Assembly polls, opined KPCC president Dr G Parameshwar.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, Parameshwar said that this is a big committee by any standards but defended the AICC move by adding that a large number of office bearers are required to work for the ruling party’s success in next year’s polls to the Legislative Assembly.
Meanwhile he refuted charges of disappointment in the party after the announcement of the list. The list has been finalized after discussions with the party high command and those who have not found a place in the office-bearers list will be given other responsibilities in the party,?he added.
On the state government gearing up to initiate action against primary and high school teachers for indulging in political activities, Parameshwara said the move had been initiated following a complaint. “Rules do not allow teachers to engage in political activities. However, no teacher will be harassed,” he said. (MR, Inputs: Agencies).
