Over thirty and odd police officers, including City Police Commissioner Dr A S Rao, donated blood at the blood donation camp held for police in the city on Tuesday.
In the blood donation camp, organised as part of 28th National Road Safety Week, 32 police officers donated blood and urged other police personnel and public to come forward for blood donation. ACP (traffic) K N Madaiah, ASI (Traffic) Charles and other officers led the initiative and donated blood at the camp organised at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry. Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Rao said, “India is facing shortage of blood and this can be addressed only if a section of public voluntarily donates blood for the cause.”
“I have been donating blood frequently for the past two and half decades, more police personnel’s and public must come forward and voluntarily donate blood,” he added.
On the occasion students of Mysuru Medical College and Research Institute and others also donated blood.
