Shabby work: Mayor squarely blames the contractor

Mysuru, May 19:- As a newspaper, City Today is in the forefront, highlighting the problems faced by the heritage city. A couple of days back, we published a report confusion prevailing at the Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar circle in the city. In a swift action, Mayor M J Ravi Kumar visited the circle on Friday to take stock of the situation. His answers to some of the questions thrown at him were more than satisfying.

The circle, which was inaugurated six months back, is beset with problems. The granite nameplate of the circle went missing some time back. Shockingly, the corporation kept silent on the issue. This is when City Today decided to highlight the issue.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor said, “The state government had said that it would release a fund of Rs 3.75 crore, but released only Rs 1.26 crore. If the work done is shabby, the contractor is responsible for it. We will look into the future course of action.”
