Solar-powered coaches launched

Prime News, National, July 15:- The Indian railways launched its first solar-powered local train in New Delhi with a battery bank facility which ensures sufficient power even in the absence of sunlight.

According to reports from PTI, All electrical needs of the coaches – lights, fans and information display system – will be met by the energy produced from the solar panels fitted on the roof of coaches of the DEMU (Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) train.
