Swachha Rail campaign by SWR flagged off

As part of the Swachha Rail- Swachha Bharat Campaign, South Western Railway began the campaign by conducting a programme at the main entrance of Hubballi Railway Station, on Saturday morning.  

S S Soin, Additional General Manager, South Western Railway, inaugurated the campaign by administering Swatchchta pledge and later interacted with public.  

The is organised from September 17 to 25 all over India.  This campaign will include special drives on cleanliness at railway stations and trains with a focus on cleaning of water booths and quality of drinking water, cleaning of drains, adequacy of dustbins, garbage disposal, cleaning campaigns by  associating NGOs and other charitable Institutions, etc and an interaction with media.

Day one is dedicated to cleanliness of the entire environment including general cleanliness of railway stations and trains.  Beautification of station premises by pruning of trees, plantation and landscaping will be undertaken.  A drive on garbage handling and disposal will be undertaken at railway stations, trains and depots.

All the principal heads of departments, heads of departments, divisional railway manager, branch officers and staff of South Western Railway were present.
