Mysore University Vice Chancellor Prof K S Rangappa, who was booked by the Mysuru city police for alleged irregularities in the university, has gone on leave till September 5.
An FIR was registered by the Jayalakshmipuram police on Saturday against the seven persons after KSOU officials lodged a complaint following directions from Governor Vajubhai Vala. A case had been taken up under Sections 406 and 409 of the IPC that deal with criminal breach of trust by a public servant.
Rangappa, facing a slew of allegations, has now gone for a long leave for 15 days. He has reportedly given the additional charge to Geology Professor Balasubramanya.
