Dhatu Organics and Naturals is organising a drawing competition for children as part of its Gandhi Jayanthi celebrations on October 2 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Children from classes 5 to 10 may take part in the competition.
The topic for the drawing competition is ‘If we followed Gandhi’s footsteps..’. Drawing sheets will be provided and the participants have to bring other art supplies they need. Prizes will be announced on the same day at 6 pm.
Dhatu is also organising various other programmes to commemorate Gandhi and his beliefs. A food stall will be set up where dishes will be sold that Gandhi would have approved of. A cooking demonstration is organised from 5 pm to 6 pm to highlight the food and dietary habits that Gandhi advocated. This will also showcase how it is still relevant to the present generation. The objective of the event is to demonstrate how simply swapping our cooking ingredients to healthier varieties can hugely impact our health.
A photo exhibition from 3 pm to 6 pm will showcase some of the rarest personal moments of Mahatma Gandhi. The photos, most of them clicked by his grandnephew Kanu Gandhi will give viewers a refreshing new insight into the everyday life of Gandhi.
