A two-day workshop on current trends in big-data analytics and cloud computing was organized in the city recently.
The Computer Science division, The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysuru, had organized the workshop under TEQIP-II at their campus. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr Ravindra Dastikop, Director, C WEL and SDM College of Engineering, Praveen Hanchinal, R N Yadwad, Assistant Prof SDM College of Engineering, Dharwad, Dr H D Phaneendra, Prof and Head of CS and E, Dr C Vidya Raj, Prof CS and E.
Dr Ravindra Dastikop gave insight about the technology used before the advent of car and he also compared the updates in current technology.
In his first session, he expressed the need for creativity in technology and also discussed about importance of Cloud computing and its applications. Adding to this he said the main intention of the workshop is to educate and tune the students to choose their career and higher studies to meet the current technologies.
Dr H D Phaneendra, Prof and Head of CS&E on the occasion emphasized on the technology which has to meet the trends and challenges in current era. “Hence, students from technical institutes must get tuned to build solutions to these challenges,” he added.
The convener of the workshop, Rashmi M R expressed the objective and scope of the workshop on Big data analytics and cloud computing. She emphasized on hands on session which are helpful for bridging the gap between academia and industry.
