The Sahara Art and Crafts exhibition is back in Mysuru with exquisite collections of handicrafts, dress materials, sarees, handlooms and traditional-modern home decors.
The art and crafts exhibition of the Sahara Handicrafts and Handlooms Association is being held in the city from July 29 where lovers of handicraft and handloom are already making a beeline. The Sahara Art and Crafts Shopping Festival provides an opportunity to various artisans and people can directly interact with artisans to know about vivid and rare collection of dying crafts and purchase them.
The exhibition-cum sale organised at the Bharat Scouts and Guides grounds in city has exclusive collections of handcrafted jewellery, embroidered sarees and dress materials, beads and zari work, printed dress materials, bedsheets, sandals, hand bags from Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and from several other places in India. Some of the rare collections of Kashmiri shawls and dress materials for women, specials Rajasthani handlooms, paintings and traditional art works and Hyderabadi pearls are also on dispplay. The shawls for the perfect season and sarees and dress materials for women’s have turned out to be a lure for them.
In addition, the small earrings, hand-designed earrings are attracting the young girls while boys have turned out their fashion towards khadi shirts and Nehru jackets. The exhibition is beckoning the people with a taste for fashion and new trend.
The leather bags and slippers, home decors, wall hanging paintings, terracotta handicrafts and handicrafts have been the hot favourites at the exhibition. No doubt the month-long Sahara Arts and Handicrafts exhibition which will conclude on August 28, will attract more and more handicrafts lovers in comings days.
