Mysuru, October 10:- Janapriya Dasara Ahara Mela, a food festival, is being organised at Scouts and Guides Ground and MUDA Ground near Lalitha Mahal Palace beginning today till October 19.
Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda, Tourism Minister Sa Ra Mahesh will be present on the occasion, said Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies Department Shivanna at a press meet held at MUDA office.
“Ninety stalls have been opened at Scouts and Guides Ground and 75 shops at MUDA Ground near Lalitha Mahal Palace. Tribal, regional, state and international foods will be available at the food festival. Cooking and eating competitions will also be held. Dhonne biryani, bamboo rice payasa, boiled tapioca and instant coffee, ragi ganji are some of the specialities,” he said.
“Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food varieties of Malenadu, coastal area, south Karnataka, north Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh are available at the food festival,” he added.
“Kamsale, Kolata, music, Togalu gombe, puja kunita, somana kunita, classical music, dasavani, folk songs, orchestra, and other cultural events will be held. Sumanth Vasishta, Chennappa Huddar of Saregamapa, Divya Ramachandra, Amulya will perform in Sangeetha Sinchana programme on October 15,” he added.
A comedy show by Gangavati Pranesh will be organised on October 16.
