“The 103rd Jayanti of seer Dr Shivaratri Rajendra Mahaswami and the inauguration of Sri Chennaveera Deshikendra Gurukula will be held on August 28 at Suttur,” said the secretary of the organisation, Manjunath at a press meet held at Rajendra Bhavan here on Saturday.
“The event will be inaugurated by Vice president of India, M Venkaiah Naidu in the presence of Suttur Mutt Seer Shivarathri Deshikendra and Siddalinga seer of Siddaganga Mutt. Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala will preside over the event. Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will release ‘Rajendra Chitra Samputa’ English translated book. Union Minister Ananth Kumar will release the Hindi version of the book ‘Suttur Sudhenu.’ Former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and Siddaramaiah will be present. Ministers G T Devegowda, Sa Ra Mahesh, C S Puttaraju, C Puttarangashetty, N Mahesh, MP R Dhruvanarayan, MLA Dr Yatindra Siddaramaiah will be present,” Manjunath added.
“The Vice President of India will inaugurate Sri Chennaveera Deshikendra Gurukula on the occasion. Generation of solar energy will begin at the JSS institution. Awareness programme and registration for blood donation and eye donation will be held. Interested persons may donate blood from 10 am to 5 pm,” he informed.
“Retired employees of JSS institutions and the family members of the deceased employees of the institutions will be honoured during the event. Hundreds of employees have retired and their felicitation will be held at 1 pm. Translators of the books, engineers and tender holders of the buildings will be felicitated. Students who have secured high marks in SSLC and PUC examinations will be honoured. Winners of Prasada bimonthly essay competition will be feted with prizes. Books of JSS Granthamale will be sold at 50% discount from August 28 to September 30,” he said.
