11 children rescued under Operation Muscan-2

Mysuru city police conducted Operation Muscan 2 in August and September as ordered by the central government and Karnataka police high commission.

During the operation on September 8, anti-human trafficking squad of Mysuru city crime branch, special police division for children, labour department rescued 11 children who were working as child labour in Siddhartha layout, Rajendra Nagar, Hale Kesare, Metagalli circle and Manasagangotri round canteen. 7 children were working as child labours and remaining four children were begging in the city premises.

The seven children, who were working as child labours, were admitted to government boys’ hostel in Vijayanagar 4th stage. Remaining four children were admitted to Shakthidhama for re-habitation.

A report has been submitted to children’s welfare committee and labour department. Action will be taken against the organisations having child labours under children justice rule.

This special operation will be continued. If citizens have any information regarding child labour and begging children, they are requested to inform the city police.
