Mysuru, March 8:- Mysuru district on Sunday (March 7) reported 11 new Covid-19 cases and 24 recoveries, taking the tally of positive caseload to 54,202 and total recoveries to 53,028, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department.
Of the total 54,202 positive cases, 140 are active and stable. The district has not recorded any new deaths for the last four days and the death toll linked to coronavirus stands at 1,034.
As of March 7 evening, 24989 beneficiaries among the Health Care Workers (HCWs) were inoculated in the first dose; 13,555 in the second dose. In the age group of 45-60-years, 502 beneficiaries were administered the jab in the first dose, while in the above 60 years age group, 5390 intended beneficiaries received the Covid-19 vaccine in the second dose.
With regard to the Front Line Workers (FLWs), 8840 doses of Covid-19 vaccine were administered in the first dose in the district and seven in the second dose.
A total of 8,95,158 coronavirus samples were tested in Mysuru district till March 7 evening, mostly RT-PCR tests.
Among the three deaths reported on Sunday in the state, all three were from Bengaluru Urban alone. Patient number 963133, a 78-year-old man succumbed to the virus with Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) with fever, cough and breathlessness as symptoms. Patient number 964477, a 71-year-old man breathed his last to Influenza Like Illnes (ILI) with fever as symptoms with co-morbidities at private hospital. Patient number 965027, a 75-year-old man died due to SARI with breathlessness as symptoms in private hospital. (NAV)
