Mysuru, June 4:- Karnataka Senapade observed the 134th birth anniversary of Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar by paying floral tributes to his portrait and distributing Mysurupak here on Sunday.
“Nalvadi was called as Rajarshi by Mahatma Gandhi. His contributions to Karnataka are incomparable. He developed Mysuru to the international standards. He is the architect of the modern Mysuru,” said social worker Raghuram Vajapayee.
“Nalvadi is one of the kings who developed Mysuru as a model state. He provided education to poor and Dalits. He introduced voting rights to all. He is the man behind of MUDA, Mysuru City Corporation, University of Mysore, KRS, Shivanasamudra hydroelectric project. Karnataka Senapade is observing his birthday in his honour,” said writer Bannur K Raju.
