15 new Covid-19 cases takes Mysuru’s tally to 53,639

Mysuru, February 10:-Mysuru district on Tuesday (February 9) registered 15 new Covid-19 cases and 17 new discharges, taking the  tally of positive cases to 53,639 and total recoveries to 52,416,according to the Health and Family Welfare Department.

Out of 53,639 total cases, 196 are active across the district and stable. The district for the second consecutive day has not reported any deaths and the death toll linked to the coronavirus disease stands at 1027.

Six districts did not report any no new cases and deaths on Tuesday. As many as 17 districts reported new cases in single digit, five in double digit and Bengaluru Urban in triple digit.

Of the two fatalities reported on Tuesday from Bengaluru Urban are a 61-year-old man and 70-year-old man as they succumbed to the virus with the symptoms of Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) with fever and breathlessness.

As far as Covid-19 vaccination is concerned, the district on Tuesday inoculated 895 beneficiaries out of 4776 intended target in 24 sessions one short of intended session with 19 percent coverage. The district has tested a total of 8,29,844 samples so far which includes mostly RT-PCR tests, 1265 samples tested on Tuesday alone. (NAV)
