17th National Jamboree for Scouts and Guides ends, cultural extravaganza enthrals participants

Cultural performances and march-past marked the end of the 17th National Jamboree for Scouts and Guides, at Adakanahlli on Tuesday.

Over 35 teams comprising participants from Nepal, Saudi Arabia and Karnataka presented the marchpast at the valedictory of the Jamboree event. Several ministers including former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda who was scheduled to take part in the valedictory of the programme could not make it to the programme, following the demise of minister H S Mahadeva Prasad.

Power Minister D K Shivakumar took part in the valedictory programme and promised the government support to the jamboree in future.

Prof Vasudeva Devanani, Minister for Education in Rajasthan, took the salute from the x contingent during the march-past.

The overall championship and the coveted title would be given to Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh or Rajasthan.
