Indian Pharmaceutical Association observed national pharmacy week by conducting an awareness rally in the city on Tuesday.
Hundreds of members of the IPA along with the students of various institutions took part in a huge awareness rally depicting the role of pharmacists for a healthy life.
Mysore Medical College dean Dr B Krishnamurthy flagged off the rally that started from Kote Anjaneya swamy temple and passed through K R circle, Devaraj Urs Road, Dhanvantri Road and ended at DC office. Addressing the gathering, Dr Krishnamurthy said, “Drugs play a pivotal role in curing a diseases but at the same time, every individual needs to get medicine or drugs based on the prescription of the doctor. Purchase of drugs without prescription should not be encouraged by pharmacy dealers.”
Deputy drug controller of Mysuru division C M Shivakumar, President of IPA, Mysuru chapter, Dr G V Poojar and others were present.
