Mysuru, September 26:- The K R Police have arrested six people in connection with chain-snatching and theft of seven two-wheelers. DCP Geetha Prasanna said they have seized gold chains and two-wheelers worth Rs 14,10,1000 from the arrested men.
The accused have been identified as Mohammed Faraz, 28, of Mandi Mohalla, Bengaluru’s K G Halli resident Arbaz Khan, 24, Bengaluru’s Kaval Byrasandra resident Zibran Khan, 19 and Hunsur’s Imran Khan, 21.
The accused were standing suspiciously near a junction on Chamundi Hills Road here. When they saw the police jeep, they tried to escape from the spot, but the alert policemen managed to apprehend them. When they were grilled at the police station, many theft cases came to the fore. Four chain-snatching cases in K R Police Station limits, one case each at Vidhyaranyapuram and Kuvempunagar Police Station limits, four vehicle thefts at K R Police Station limits, one case each at Upparpete Police Station in Bengaluru and Peenya Police Station and Mahalakshmi Layout Police Station.
Under the guidance of DCP Dr A N Prakash Gowda and Additional Police Commissioner Purnachandra Tejaswi, K R Poice Station Inspector L Sriinivas’ team comprising sub-inspector C N Sunil, ASI D B Sursh, M Sharif, P Gangadhar, M Srinivas Prasad, S Satish Kumar, Abhishek, Benjamin, M Madhu, Sharath Kumar, N Ragini, Lolakshi, Manjunath, Gurudev Aradhya, Kumar and Shyam conducted the operation.
