Three killed, five seriously hurt in separate accidents

Three people were killed and around five were seriously injured in separate road accidents in Mysuru district on Tuesday.

In the first incident, five women who were returning in their car to Madikeri from Hunsur, lost control and hit a Bolero car coming from the opposite direction near Kollaghatta in Hunsur taluk. Daisi Kariyappa and Baby Thimmaiah, who were in the front seats of the car, were killed on spot. Asha Kariyappa and Saraswathi were seriously injured and admitted to the hospital.

In another incident, Alikunji, the victim, lost control of his car and hit a tree near Hanagodu. He died on the spot whereas other two friends who were travelling along him suffered major injuries. A case has been registered in Hunsur Rural police station.

In other incident, a woman was killed when a wall collapsed on her due to heavy rain of Itna village in H D Kote taluk. The deceased is identified as Timmamma, wife of Chikkanayaka of the village.
