Mysuru, March 1:- The Second year Pre-University examinations began in the city today.
The exams will be held at 50 centres in Mysuru district and 34,685 students are appearing for the exams.
There are 26 examination centres in the city and 24 in rural areas. All the preparations have been made for transparent and peaceful examination. CCTV cameras have been installed at the examination centres.
9671 students will be writing the examination in arts stream, 12,932 in commerce and 12,082 in science. Students have been instructed to not carry watch while entering the examination hall. They are also instructed not to take scientific calculator inside. 30 visually impaired students are writing the exam and they are given separate room and an additional one hour.
The exam begins at 10:15 am and concludes at 1:30 pm. Anxious students were busy going through the books till the last minute.
Mysuru Police has clamped prohibitory orders within a radius of 200 metres from the examination centres on all the days of exams. In addition, the photo-copy shops in the vicinbity have been asked to remain closed from morning till evening till the exams conclude. (MR/KS).
