303 vehicles seized for violating lockdown in Mysuru

Mysuru, March 31:- The city police have strictly instructed the public not to come out of their homes unnecessarily as the risk of spreading of coronavirus is increasing. The vehicular movement has been completely prohibited in the district. Superintendent of Police CB Ryshyanth had instructed the police to take strict action against anyone who comes out unnecessarily.

The city police implemented the instructions of the SP and seized vehicles coming out unnecessarily on Monday.

The police seized 303 vehicles in NR Station limits, Mandi, VV Puram, Metagalli, Vijayanagar, Hebbal, Devaraja Police Station limits, Nazarbad, Lashkar Mohalla, Udayagiri, Alanahalli, KR Station limits, Ashokapuram, Vidyaranyapuram Station limits, Saraswathipuram and Kuvempunagar Station limits. DCP Dr AN Prakash Gowda said that 285 two-wheelers, 10 three-wheelers, and 8 four-wheelers have been seized.

The police have warned of continuing the action on Tuesday as well. The police said that the vehicles will be returned to the owners only after the lockdown period gets over. (MR/KS)
