JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy on Friday expressed displeasure over Kalale Keshavamurthy quitting the party and joining the Congress.
Kumaraswamy, who had come to Nanjangud to attend a party workers meeting ahead of by-polls for Nanjangud Assembly constituency, said Keshavamurthy did not approach the party leaders before taking the decision to quit the party.
He said, “What Keshavamurthy mentioned about quitting JD(S) with the permission of party’s national president H D Deve Gowda and me is not at all true, Keshavamurthy is a dangerous man and has misused our names. He has started to lie after joining Congress party.”
“I was unaware of the agreement Keshavamurthy had arrived at with the Congress, he has betrayed me and the party,” he added.
Kumaraswamy said, “The party has many efficient candidates who can win an election, we will field them for the by-polls from the party and the candidate will be finalised after discussion with party workers.”
When asked about state government’s move to punish lecturers for boycotting examination or evaluation duty, he said, “Instead of resolving issues, the government has turned dictatorial.”
