UoM Registrar calls upon students to emulate principles of Dr Ambedkar

Students must emulate the principles of Dr B R Ambedkar in their day-to-day life, said University of Mysore (UoM) Registrar (examination) Prof J Somashekhar.

He was speaking at the 126th birth anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar organised by Maharani’s Women’s Arts College at their college premises in the city on Friday.

He said “Ambedkar was a great humanitarian and a philosopher who fought for the downtrodden and exploited sections of the society and was a man of knowledge.People in general should be aware of their rights,” Prof Somashekhar added.

“There are several research centres, centre of excellence in the name of Ambedkar, thousands of people have submitted thesis on Ambekar, his life, principles and his contribution. It is of utmost importance for students to learn from his life and emulate his principles to make the country develop,” the professor said.
