Mysuru, October 9:- Mysuru district on Thursday (October 8) reported 642 new Covid-19 infections, cumulatively it has 40,232 cases.
As many as 563 patients have been cured/discharged from the designated Covid Hospitals taking the total number of discharged patients to 32,257. Out of 40,232 cases, 7123 are active in the district and undergoing treatment at various hospitals. The district again registered double digit mortality as it recorded 12 deaths on Thursday and the death toll has risen to 852.
Of the total 101 deaths reported in the state on Thursday, 43 are from Bengaluru Urban, followed by Dakshina Kannada – 6, Kalaburgi, Kolar and Tumakuru – 5 each , Bagalkote and Ballari – 3 each and others. A majority of the deceased are either with a history of Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) or Influenza-like illness (ILI).
Among the districts where new cases were reported, Bengaluru Urban accounted for 5,121, Tumakuru – 509, Hassan – 441, Bengaluru Rural – 368, Dakshina Kannada – 296 and others. Bengaluru Urban district tops the list of Covid positive cases, with a total of 2.67 lakh infections, followed by Mysuru – 40,232 and Ballari – 33,763. (NAV)
