Mysuru, July 27:- FPAIndia, Mysuru branch celebrated the 70th Foundation Day at its premises on Tuesday (July 23). Floral tributes were offered to the founders of the association by the dignitaries present.
A function was organised on the occasion which was presided over by Dr SN Hegde, chairperson, FPAIndia, Mysuru branch.
He said, ‘the FPAIndia was founded 70 years ago with the intention of checking the growing population in India by various birth control methods. Later, the aims and objectives of the association have been modified to family planning and welfare so as to cater to the needs of the society. The association now works with an intention to support the all-round development of the families and society. The association is presently serving all people of the society irrespective of caste, religion, gender, age, etc. We are offering free training in tailoring, beautician and home nursing care to the needy.”
Dr Mylahalli Revanna, member of the FPAI branch, narrated the history of FPAI and the path it has followed during the course of the last 70 years.
The second training programme of tailoring and beautician course was inaugurated by Rtn S Balachander, president, Rotary Ivory City Mysuru.
Rtn Ramesh, Rtn Animesh Chaturvedi, Rtn Pooja Baliga and Rtn Shabana Ifftikar were present. Bijimole, the branch manager, FPAI welcomed the gathering. Prabhushankar, coordinator, FPAI, proposed vote of thanks.(MR)
