Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murty conferred honorary doctorate in absentia

Mysuru: The 100th Convocation of the University of Mysore (UoM) was held at the Crawford Hall here on Monday (October 19). Higher Education Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan and UoM Vice-Chancellor Prof G Hemanth Kumar were present on the occasion.

Around 29,018 students were awarded degrees in various streams. Boys, 18344 (63.21%) had an upper hand over girls, 10,674 (36.78%). In agribusiness, Manoj Ranjan was awarded DLit. 264 women and 390 men received PhDs. Around 7,971 students received PG certificates while 20,393 students received degree certificates.

Infosys Foundation chairperson Sudha Murty was awarded an honorary doctorate in absentia. Prof Kumar recalled Sudha Murty’s contribution to the society, education and literature. (MR/KS)
