The ‘Suryanamaskara’ programme as part of ‘Ratha saptami’ was held at Kote Anjaneya temple premises on Sunday in the city. The programme was organised under the auspices of Mysuru Yoga Okkoota.
Over 500 yoga practitioners took part in the programme and demonstrated ‘Suryanamaskara.’
Addressing the gathering, J Jagdish, Commissioner of MCC, said that people think that yoga is reserved only for a certain section of society. It is untrue. Yoga is free for all. By doing yoga, one can build immense strength and lead a happy and healthy life. In the recent times there is sudden popularity for yoga which is a welcome sign, he added.
The participants demonstrated Suryanamaskara for more than 90 minutes in the wee hours of Sunday. Participants also said that Suryanamaskara helps them to secure relief from stress levels and gives positive energy to go on with their day ahead.
