“Literature should always resemble a flowing river and not stagnant water. A good literature is capable of reforming the society and it can correct the errors of the society,” said renowned writer Prof C P Krishnakumar (CPK).
He was speaking at the ‘Dasara Kavya Cauvery Kavigoshti’ held at District Kannada Sahitya Parishat at the premises of Kote Anjaneya temple.
“Poets and writers should contribute with good literature. Literature is a guiding light to walk with. Organising such session on Cauvery must be appreciated,” he said.
“Poets, writers and thinkers should come forward to work for the good of the society. Those who wish troubles for others, burn themselves and also the society. It brings a bad name for the entire literary field. A poet is the one who works as an elixir to the society,” he added.
More than 20 poets recited poems over the Cauvery dispute that haunts Karnataka.
President of district Karnataka Sahithya Parishad Y D Rajanna, Meena Patil, Dr T C Poornima, President of Neladani cultural organisation Satish Jawaregowda and others were present.
