Abhiyenthararu, a theatre for engineers, is conducting a one month theatre course for engineers ‘Towards theatre (Rangabhoomiyattha)’ from August 5 to September 10.
The theatre course will be inaugurated by former Rangayana director and former Karnataka Nataka Academy president B V Rajaram on August 4 at Maneyangala in Kalamandir premises. Renowned theatre personality Rameswari Verma will preside and District Kannada Sahitya Parishat president Y D Rajanna , Karnataka Nataka Academy member Ramachandra, Kannada and Culture Department assistant director Channappa and course director Pralayan, will be guests of honour.
Renowned theatre person of international fame, Pralayan from Chennai will be the course director and several other theatre personalities are invited to enlighten on theatre to the participants. This will be followed by a theatre festival ‘Abhiyentharara Rangothsava’ from September 10 to 12 at Kalamandir.
The theatre festival will comprise seminars, folk music, art exhibition, book exhibition and staging of three plays.
Engineers from IBM, Excel Soft, Rane Madras, BEML Ltd, Irrigation Department, PWD and engineering and diploma engineering college students from JSS Science and Technology University, NIE, Vidyavardhaka, Vidyavikas, PES CE Mandya, NIEIT, MIT, JSS Polytechnic and Vidyavardhaka Polytechnic will be participating in the theatre course.
‘Abhiyenthararu’was established in 1993 by a group of engineers and have staged several plays at various places and festivals like Mumbai Festival, Rangayana’s Greeshma Rangothsava, Ballari’s Hampi Utsava, Mysuru Dasara Festival, Karnataka Nataka Academy’s Karmika Rangothsava, Kuppalli Thejaswi Festival, Rangashankara and others.
