Abolition of Article 370 will help Kashmir to flourish: MP V Srinivas Prasad

Mysuru, August 6:- “Pakistan-sponsored terrorism is wreaking havoc in Jammu and Kashmir. The central government has thoughtfully withdrawn Article 370 from Kashmir which will help the state to develop,” said Chamarajanagar BJP Member of Parliament V Srinivas Prasad.

He was speaking to media before attending the discussion session organised by his supporters at Rani Bahadur Hall at Manasagangothri, UoM here on Tuesday.

“I have celebrated my birthday with the children of Odanadi before. Now, I have come to take part in a discussion. I am in politics since 40 years. I have seen ups and downs but I am a human being who stands true to social responsibilities. I wanted to retire from electoral politics but people and voters didn’t let me retire. I have faced my 14th election. I have been elected as an MP for the 6th time. Love of people has brought me immense happiness. I thank them all for observing my birthday,” he said.

“Article 370 was in place in J&K for 70 years but it didn’t help us to maintain peace in the state. It was against national integrity as well. Understanding this, the central government has abolished Article 370. Though the government has tried a lot against terrorism, thousands of citizens have lost their lives. Soldiers have also died. Earlier, lakhs of tourists used to visit Jammu and Kashmir. but now nobody goes, it is because of Pakistan’s sinister designs,” he said.

Responding to the delay in the formation of the state cabinet, he said that the government was formed after the resignation of 17 MLAs and it would take some time as the case is in court. Prasad felt BJP is capable of giving a stable government in the state. “My son-in-law Harshavardhan, elected as the MLA for the first time, has to maintain peace and development in the constituency and he is not aspirant for a cabinet berth,” he said.
