Mysuru, January 21:- A Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) was caught red-handed by the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Police while taking a bribe at his office in Hunsur on Thursday (January 20).
Sathish Kumar, a PDO in Thattekere village, Hunsur taluk, was arrested by the ACB Police while he was taking a bribe from Ramesh, a resident of Niluvagilu village who was sanctioned a subsidy amount by the government to build a cattle shed.
Ramesh has received the first installment of the subsidy amount from the government. He reportedly approached the ACB against Kumar, who demanded a bribe of Rs 5000 when the second installment of Rs 28,000 was to be released.
As per the ACB officials’ instructions, Ramesh gave the bribe money to the PDO who was caught red-handed in the planned raid led by the ACB SP Arunamshu Giri.
ACB officers including DSP Dharmendra, Inspectors Chittaranjan, Mohan Krishna, Guru, Yogesh, Manju, Pappanna, Chetan, Madesh and Pushpa were part of the investigation. (AM/SH/KS)
