National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources (NCPNR) has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa to take stern action against former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and his family members and recover 200 acre of public land which was in their “illegal possession.”
Addressing a press meet here on Saturday, members of NCPNR released various documents regarding the issue.
President of NCPNR and social activist S R Hiremath said, “The state government must immediately act against them as the authorities have failed to take proper action despite various recommendations by the officials who looked and inquired into the matter. Kumaraswamy and his family member D C Thammanna are in illegal possession of over 200 acre of public land including Gomala land in Ketaganahalli village of Bidadi hobli. They have illegally possessed the land which was meant for distribution among the scheduled caste community.”
“When the matter was brought in to notice of the Assistant Commissioner of Ramanagaram division, he had quoted that Kumaraswamy and his family aides had possessed the land violating the provision of Acts concerned. He had later ordered to take over the land back to the government. Former MP G Made Gowda took the matter to the Lokayukta in the year 2013. Of late in April 2016, the principal secretary of the Revenue Department wrote a letter to the DC of Ramanagaram and had asked him to submit a report but the DC is yet to take any action,” he added.
He also urged the state government to take action against V G Siddarth, son-in-law of former CM S M Krishna, who was allegedly said to have encroached tank land. Hiremath said, “Siddarth, with his blatant abuse of power, nepotism has encroached tank land. It is high time for the state government and concerned authorities to take stern action against this privileged offender who are in to criminal activities and land grabbing.”
Earlier, Ravi Krishna Reddy of the NCPNR said that he has sent a letter to Chief Justice T S Thakur asking for a criminal corruption investigation by the CBI or a specially monitored team of CBI Judge, R Dharmagoudar along with H M Siddarth who were the lawyers for B Y Vijayendra (son of former CM Yedyurappa) and Prerana Educational Social Trust caught with unexplained cash recently.”
